I got myself a Canon EOS 400D as an early Christmas present! It's my first DSLR, and I know next to nothing about (digital) photography. Basically, I'm forcing myself to learn something new this way. I'm spending a lot of time reading up on things such as 'aperture' and 'exposure'. At the moment the subject is still quite daunting, but since the idea was to learn to shoot more creatively... Well, you just got to put in your hours. Here are few of the first shots I took. Shot in green mode, of course; I am a newbie after all.
What time is your alarm clock set for? Do you use the snooze button?
My alarm clock is set to six in the morning. I place it out of reach so that I have to make an effort to press the snooze button. When I finally get there I'm usually awake enough to resist the temptation of snooze. When I'm not able to resist it, I don't push the snooze button, but set it to go off at seven instead.
Sometimes I actually forget that I have a Vox blog. Trying to get in the habit of blogging more on Vox, but it is a slow process.

Stop asking me stupid questions every single day!
I'm kidding. Really :)
What's your favorite heartbreak song?

This is a really tough question, but I saw fellow vox-er Jen mentioning Ryan Adams's album Heartbreaker and I totally agree with her. From that album "To Be The One" is my abolute favorite track. It is just so sad and gorgeous that it never fails to move me.
Windows, Mac, Linux - What's your preference and why?

I suspect there'll be a rather high Mac ratio within the Vox community. I prefer Macs, because I admire the aesthetic sensibility, think usability is important in a OS, and because I can do without viruses/spyware/adware.

Of course this is not airing yet in the Netherlands, but through the wonders of BitTorrent I'm now checking it out. I'm hooked. I downloaded the first three eps, and watched them all in a row this morning. I'm currently downloading episode 4, because I just have to know what happens next. It starts off a little slow, but the suspense that they build up is enormous.
I'm using iSquint to convert these episodes to iPod compatible format. If I had been able to buy the show from the US iTunes Store I would have, but unfortunately the powers that be have decided that's not allowed; basically they are forcing me to be a criminal.
That said, the series is absolutely amazing so far. It is about ordinary people who discover they have extraordinary powers and that is always an enjoyable thing too watch. Don't expect capes and spandex, but do expect people trying to cope with life and then discover that their life has become something they could never have imagined. Recommended!
